1878 (MAY 1) soldier's mourning cover from 'Corpl A.B. Bourden, 2nd Battn, 9th Regt' at Peshawar to Peckham, England, and endorsed 'via Southampton'. Duly countersigned and franked at concessionary rate by 1874 9p bright mauve, tied by 'PESHAWAR / L-8' duplex with London backstamp (31 MY). Minor traces of soiling mentioned for accuracy, still really fine and far above average for this very scarce single franking.
