1912 500r dull green, vertical strip of FIVE, fine used on piece, each cancelled with manuscript initials, "363", and dated "7.11.21", the reverse bearing 100r brownish grey and Ceylon Postage 20r, 10r, and 2r for an extraordinary total of 2,632 rupees, surely ranking amongst the highest recorded frankings. Worm holes in uppermost 500r, peripheral toning and usual pin hole cancellations, still a remarkably rare and visually impressive multiple. (cat £1,920+)
