Telegraph. 1869-78 India 8a brown, 1r grey Die II x7, and 2r8a orange-yellow Die II x2, range of ten upper halves (four on pieces), used with clear identifiable cancels of seven different offices, comprising (Bad)ulla, (Batti)calo(a), Galle (x2, different types), (G)ampola (x2), (Jaff)na, (Newar)ellya (x2) and (Trin)comal(ee). Strikes and condition generally much above average, making an excellent basis for expansion.[The majority of Indian telegraph stamps used in Ceylon have Colombo cancels. Examples of usage at other offices are much scarcer, and often rare.]
