1896 (12 Aug) 4½a orange-yellow, type 1 opt on B.E.A., left marginal block of four with "PROTEC" inscription, from Setting 3, R3-4/1-2, three stamps with small second "z", but R4/1 normal, clearly showing the important variety "Broken p for n" on R3/2 (and "Antique r" on R4/2), neatly cancelled by complete and part strikes of "11 SE 96" cds. A fine and very scarce positional multiple, with only 41 sheets overprinted. Ex Griffith-Jones.
