1895-96 6a pale brown, type 1 opt on India, horizontal pair from Setting 3 (first state), R7/1-2, the left stamp with small second "z" down, the right stamp ERROR "Zanibar", attractively cancelled by large part "30 JA 97" cds which leaves error clear. Couple of slightly shortish perfs mentioned for accuracy, still very fine. A rarity in used condition, being one of only five examples recorded thus, and especially desirable in this se-tenant form. Ex Griffith-Jones, with clear Brandon cert (1995). (cat £1400+).
