ST VINCENT 1862 SG11 Mint

Stock Code: P201008786

1862-68 1s slate-grey, no wmk, compound perf 11 to 12½ x 14 to 16, HORIZONTAL STRIP OF SIX from R1/1-6 on the sheet with centre guide between 5-6, lovely colour and full o.g. (centre pair unmounted). Odd insignificant traces of perf toning mentioned for accuracy, nevertheless an outstanding positional multiple, surely unique and apparently the largest extant of this stamp, with only four blocks of four recorded by Messenger. [The lower marginal Jaffe (ex Glossop) "block" realised £8500+ in 2006, despite being rejoined from two pairs.]
