1936 (12 Nov) official "JIPEX" illustrated envelope, sent airmail to England and franked by 1933-48 1½d green and bright gold "Gold Mine", left marginal block of 4, exceptionally showing variety "Shading omitted from mine dump" on upper right (Afrikaans) stamp (and largely omitted from lower right stamp), tied by special exhibition cds on FIRST DAY OF ISSUE. Minor traces of toning, still a remarkable and rare first day usage.
