SOUTH AFRICA 1914-27 SGD5, D15/6, D18/09 Specimen

Stock Code: P189003729

Postage Due. 1914-27 piece believed to be from the Tunisia UPU specimen archive, affixed with 1914-22 5d, 1922-26 3d, 6d and 1927-28 1d, 2d postage dues, each stamp with "SPECIMEN" H/S (Bendon type TUN1). Included are two further pieces from the same source with similar sets lacking the "SPECIMEN" receiving H/S, demonstrating that the set with H/S is almost certainly unique (the UPU distribution being three sets at that time). Very fine and highly desirable. [N.B. This archival material suggests the UPU distributed a mixed set of postage dues currently in use c.1927 without "SPECIMEN" opt.]
