Consular Service: 1885 embossed $1, $1½, $2 and $6 red (Dollar currency for use at consulates in the Far East) IMPERFORATE with counterfoils at left and small figures of value at right, Booth type 'a' overprint at foot, without Serial Numbers, fine unused. Minor creasing largely limited to counterfoils, still a tremendously rare group which are almost certainly early stage essays (most unusually without 'Specimen overprint') with none of these values recorded as issued stamps in this format. Booth 103A, 104A, 107B (The $1 not recorded by Booth, and the $6 listed with a question mark!)
