GB 1850 SGCC3 Cover - Vera Cruz Crowned Circle

1850 British Post Offices Abroad. Very fine cover from Vera Cruz to New York endorsed 'P. Clyde via Mobile' at lower left. Prepaid '1/-' in red manuscript with a very fine strike in black of the type CC1b 'PAID/AT/VERA CRUZ' crowned circle handstamp. Blue Mobile arrival datestamp, 'SHIP' and '10' handstamps on obverse indicating postage due for Delivery. Vera Cruz datestamps on reverse from the Mexican and British Post Offices both for JA.18.1850. Rare, the RMSP Co. route from Bermuda to Mobile via Nassau, Havana, Tampico and Vera Cruz only ran between Jan. 1849 to Aug.1850 a total of 21 sailings of which only two were made by 'Clyde'.
