1840 1d Mulready Envelope (Forme 3, Stereo A163. Very fine used example from Stonehaven to Wolverhampton neatly cancelled by a crisp strike of the distinctive Stonehaven double lined MC in red. Backstamped with a Stonehaven boxed datestamp for NO.22.1840 and an Edinburgh transit cds for the following day. Believed to be the only known example of this distinctive cross on a Mulready. Ex.
