GB 1840 SG2,3 Pl.1a & 6 Penny Black - two different plates used on the same cover

1840 1d Grey-black Pl.1a and 1d Black Pl.6. Very fine large franking from London to Edinburgh, prepaid by an example in grey-black from plate 1a lettered BA, and three examples in black from plate 6 lettered PG (State 1),PI & QG, margins all round (mostly large to very large, QG just clipped at foot), neatly tied by crisp black Maltese Crosses. Manuscript '2oz' at left but deemed to be over this weight with a very stylised manuscript '4p' due charge. Black 'MORE/TO/PAY' in double-circle and a black 'T.P./Lisson Grove' receiving office handstamp alongside adhesives. London and Edinburgh datestamps on reverse for AP.19+21.1841 respectively. Two filing folds well clear of adhesives as to be expected on such a large cover. A very rare underpaid over 2oz franking, the use of two different 1d black plates on a single cover is exceptionally rare. Spec. AS2 and AS41.
