1919 (13 Apr) 35k on 4k carmine-red 'Romanov', handstamped surcharge as type 2 applied only to stamps affixed to postcards, unused (without gum as always). Characteristic minor marks, still very fine for this celebrated rarity. Only 78 issued, with a very low survival rate. Signed Bloch, with Friedl cert (1978). The only example we have handled in the last 35 years. (cat £18,000 on complete postcard, but unobtainable in that state).
