BARBADOS 1947 SGD2 Cover postage due to Sir Harry Luke

1947 (13 JAN) cover from Great Britain to Jamaica, addressed to Sir Harry Luke c/o The British Council, underfranked at 2½d UPU rate by GB 1937-47 KGVI 2d orange, tied by London machine cancel, with red '1D / I.S.F.' tax mark alongside. On arrival in Jamaica forwarded directly to Barbados, where the deficiency was paid by 1934-47 1d black postage due. The cover then re-addressed to Santiago, Chile, and Piccadilly, London, where a GB 1937-38 1d carmine postage due (SG D28) was applied and tied by a London cds. Various tax markings on face and backstamps of Kingston (FE 20), Bridgetown (19 MCH) and St Philips (20/21 MR). A very interesting and well-travelled cover. [N.B. Sir Harry Luke was the chief representative of the British Council in the Caribbean until 1947.]
