Great Britain 1858-79 1d rose-red, plate 131, vertical strip of 4 (BL-EL), cancelled by two light but legible strikes of 'ADEN / 124' duplex (date unclear, but possibly 'OC 22 70'). A little soiled and some perf toning (mainly on reverse), but a remarkable and very rare usage. [When the telegraph service from the U.K. had extended to Suez, telegrams were for points further east were forwarded from there to Aden by ordinary mail, the envelope containing the telegram bearing appropriate British postage stamps cancelled at Suez or Aden.]
