The Stamps that Changed the World

The Postal Museum is excited to announce that it will be attending the World Stamp Show in New York this May to promote GB philately and advocate on behalf of the hobby.

As well as a presentation on Postal Reform and the Penny Black, to be delivered by Senior Philatelic Curator, Douglas Muir RDP, there are also ambitious plans to take an original registration sheet of Penny Blacks and Two Pence Blues to the United States for the first time in their 175 year history.

To make this a reality, The Postal Museum is asking Philatelists in the UK to be part of this historic event by sponsoring a stamp from the original sheets to get them to New York. A £100 donation will secure the journey across the pond of the stamp you have chosen to support. As thanks you will receive a personalised certificate and your name will appear on The Postal Museum’s stand at the World Stamp Show as well as on the supporters page on the campaign website.

Help bring this important story of British innovation from our world-renowned philatelic history to a new audience by pledging your support here.

This will be specified in the May issue of Gibbons Stamp Monthly.
