A note from the editor
My name is Dean Shepherd and I am the editor of Gibbons Stamp Monthly, the UK’s best-selling philatelic magazine.
With a history dating back to 1890, Gibbons Stamp Monthly has long been the magazine of choice for stamp collectors around the world. Published by the most famous name in stamp collecting, Stanley Gibbons, Gibbons Stamp Monthly allows collectors to keep up to date with the latest developments from the stamp world – from new research to the latest stamp issues.
Each issue contains in-depth articles from leading philatelists, new issue information from bureaus around the world, a review of current trends in the stamp market and the latest news from the philatelic community. In addition, every issue also comes with an exclusive supplement to the world-famous Stanley Gibbons Stamp Catalogue.
A few highlights of the October issue, on sale now, include a study of the stamps of Barbados, which provide some of the most attractive issues of the British Empire.
We also look at how the reunification of Denmark a century ago affected postal services and the stamps of the newly united country, and we ‘revive’ the stamps of more ‘dead’ countries with a focus on the Mali Federation, the Malagasy Republic and Spanish West Africa.
All this and much more can be in the October issue of Gibbons Stamp Monthly.

A note from the editor
My name is Alison Boyd and I am the editor of Philatelic Exporter – the world’s longest-running philatelic trade publication.
From its first issue in 1945, Philatelic Exporter (PE) became the independent voice, forum and marketplace of the international philatelic trade. I was appointed editor earlier this year and oversaw a major redesign of the magazine. Early next year, the magazine will develop further as it partners with Stanley Gibbons to host its inaugural dealer auction.
Philatelic Exporter is the only independent magazine in the world produced for the international stamp trade. Every issue contains lively, informative and thought-provoking articles by a global set of contributors. International reports from columnists based in Great Britain, Europe, the USA and Australia are complemented by philatelic news, auction reports, dealer insights, book reviews, special features and a monthly postcard column to provide information vital to the philatelic industry.
Additionally, a comprehensive diary section ensures that information on the latest auctions from around the world, new issues, and national and international events is readily available to the reader.
Included in the September issue is a report on the first major stamp show to be held in the USA since the coronavirus pandemic affected all our lives. Lessons learned from this event will help future philatelic events take place. For those seeking to expand their knowledge, there is a price review of the 16th-century Corsini correspondence and guidance on valuing commercial covers.
Please do ask for a sample edition – I am sure you will find it invaluable.
