1967 2d 'H.M.S. Carmania', lower marginal vertical strip of three from column 5 of the sheet with '1A' (x4) plate numbers in bottom margin, bottom stamp showing error GREY-BLUE (HULL) OMITTED due to a massive upward shift of grey-blue printing, causing the two stamps above to show misplaced hulls below the ship, and with '1A' grey-blue plate number appearing in upper centre of the error stamp, unmounted o.g. [N.B. Technically the grey-blue is not completely missing as a result of the plate number printed on the stamp, but this is nevertheless the UNIQUE proving example from the one sheet that existed, demonstrating how the error arose]. The Pierron strip of 10 from column 3 of the same sheet recently realised £5391 (Spink 8/12/09, lot 1246).
