England, Edward III gold Half-Ryal struck at Bristol
Rare mint – compared with London very few Ryals and Half-Ryals were struck at Bristol (denoted by the letter 'B' in the waves beneath the boat), also the Half is much scarcer the the full Ryal and this is in particularly good condition example.

Obv:
Crowned king in medieval ship holding sword and Royal Arms, flag with Gothic 'E' to right, 'B' in waves, Sun mm, EDWARD DI' GRA REX ANGL' S FRANC'. (Edward by the Grace of God king of England and France).

Rev:
Cross 'fleur-de-lisee' with crowned leopards in angles, rose on star in centre, all within tressure of eight arches, small trefoils in angles, DOMINE IN FVRORE TVO ARGVS ME, (O Lord, rebuke me not in Thine anger).
