Visitors to New York 2016 will be able to see a restored, 100-year-old Curtiss JN-4H biplane at the Javits Convention Centre in Manhattan for the eight days of NY 2016 (28 May – 4 June).
At the show, the plane will be reunited with one of the famous inverted-centre stamps that secured its place in philatelic history. Siegel Auctions will be offering the highest-graded example to date from the original sheet of 100 stamps at its auction that will take place
on 31 May during the show. The stamp, from position 58 on the sheet, has been graded extremely fine-superb 95 by the Professional Stamp Experts firm. Its last sale, in 2005 by Siegel, was for a then-record $577 500.
