Return of the dragon… And your exclusive opportunity
Dear Reader,
Return of the dragon… And your exclusive opportunity
Earlier this year, I told you about two remarkable Bruce Lee pieces. You had the chance to buy an inspirational poem handwritten by Bruce Lee and his very own notebook that included sketches of his own martial arts moves.
One of you snapped up both pieces straight away. No surprise really as Bruce Lee remains an icon to millions and the value of Bruce Lee memorabilia, especially pieces as significant as the ones we can offer you, just keeps going up.
Ever since we sold those two pieces we have been receiving calls and emails from you asking when we were next going to get some Bruce Lee items in. We just kept saying the same thing – “Genuine Bruce Lee items are very rare and very hard to come by.”
That remains the case, but now I have something really exciting to share with you… We have been lucky enough to build a collection of Bruce Lee items the likes of which has never been seen.
If you want any of these items you are going to have to be quick because these will not be available for long. One of the items is especially remarkable, but I’d be far happier to keep a collection like this together, so I will offer you a very special deal if you’d like to buy all four items…
Let me tell you about the jewel in the crown of the collection first.
This is a remarkable autographed manuscript from Bruce Lee written in English detailing the "Gung Fu Program" with seven steps;
1. Exercises
2. Kicking
3. Straight Punching
4. Basic Block/Strike
5. Classic Gung Fu Technique
6. Self-Defense Technique
7. Forms
Under each heading are details of the necessary martial arts exercises to complete the program. Written in blue biro on an A4 page torn from a book, this stunning piece is accompanied by a rare original student membership card signed by Lee from his Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute. The card bears Lee's Jeet Kune Do logo which incorporates the yin-yang symbol with his motto "Using no way as way, having no limitation as limitation" in Chinese.
The membership card is neatly signed in black felt tip "Bruce Lee" and is countersigned by Taky Kimura (Head Instructor). It is accompanied by a letter of provenance from Taky Kimura. This is your opportunity to own a personal training plan devised and written out by Bruce Lee.
We can have the program and signed membership card framed for you along with a beautiful picture of Bruce Lee. Just imagine it on your wall…
This piece is available for £32,000, but if you combine it with the other 3 items I’m about to share with you then you will benefit from a very special offer.
The second item for you is Bruce Lee’s personal copy of E. J. Harrison’s book, “Manual of Karate” signed by Lee.
As you can see, Lee has also drawn some instructional diagrams in the book: one of a hand with directional force arrows with the notation "soft yet not yielding" and the other a figure with the notation "The Three Fronts: eyes, hands, legs".
The booked is signed and inscribed by Lee in Chinese and English in blue biro "Property of Bruce Lee [personal Chinese signature]".
It’s a remarkable piece, available to you for £30,000.
The next piece is very similar and equally stunning. It is another of Bruce Lee’s personal books, but this time it’s a Chinese martial arts book.
Again, this was Bruce Lee’s personal copy. The book features various additional notations and instructional drawings to the photographs in the book. There are also 3 exceptional small drawings on the first blank leaf which illustrate the power of the fingers, hand and fist, including one of a hand breaking a wooden log in two. Beside the drawings Lee has written 6 Chinese characters.
The book was given to Taky Kimura, a friend and student of Lee, who eventually became the head instructor of the Jun Fan Gung Fu institute. Now you can own it for £30,000.
Finally, you have the opportunity to own this Chinese martial arts book, which Lee has added to with a hand written title, saying “The Mantis Style Boxing” on the first blank leaf. Lee has sketched his opposition on instructional photographs, used arrows to show directional thrust and titled several photographs.
The book has also been stamped with Lee's personal address "Mr. Bruce Lee, 11222 Jefferson Street, Seattle, Washington". On the last blank flyleaf, Bruce Lee has listed, in pencil, in Chinese, his ten martial art forms.
It’s another incredible Bruce Lee item that you could own. This is available to you for £29,000.
Your special offer
I think that this is such a remarkable collection of Bruce Lee memorabilia that it deserves to stay together. If you would like to buy all four items I can offer you a saving of £6,000. The combined total for this collection is £121,000, but you can have the complete collection for £115,000.
If you’re interested in the collection or any item individually, please call our Sales Advisers on +44 (0)20 7557 4407 or email us on sales@frasersautographs.com.
