Margaret Thatcher: 1925 - 2013

The death of Margaret, Baroness Thatcher, on 8 April 2013 brought to an end a long and dedicated lifetime of service. She was the first woman in Britain to hold the office of Prime Minister and her 11 years in that role is the longest of any in the 20th century. To commemorate her life we have a selection of limited edition covers and stamp sheets.

Pauline MacBroom to retire after 34 years of SG service

One of the longest serving members of our team will retire in May after 34 years of loyal service.
Pauline MacBroom of the Commonwealth Department will leave Stanley Gibbons on 3rd May to be replaced by George James.
'After 34 years at Stanley Gibbons I have decided that the time has come to hang up my tweezers and put away my magnifying glass. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your valued custom over the years. My special gratitude goes to those who sponsored me so generously on my Macmillan runs', said Pauline.

Royal Mail to issue new 'Football Heroes' stamps

Royal Mail will issue a new set of stamps on 9th May to mark the 150th anniversary of the Football Association.
The stamps will feature some of the greatest players in British football history: Jimmy Greaves, John Charles, Gordon Banks, George Best, John Barnes, Kevin Keegan, Denis Law, Bobby Moore, Bryan Robson, Dave Mackay and Sir Bobby Charlton.
