1948 New Arabic five values (1, 3, 5, 10, 15m), matching upper left corner blocks of 10 (5x2) with plate numbers '1' (x2), each with R2/3 showing constant variety 'Extra dot above the 'nun', the left-hand letter in the upper Arabic vignette inscription, unmounted o.g. These are the only values that exist with this variety (Stagg, p.41). Odd marginal blemishes but an attractive and interesting group. (cat £234+)

Minor soiling and right stamp with gum on face but a unique and wonderful item. Only four used examples of the total omission are recorded, of which one is in the Royal Collection. Ex William Frazer. Odd shortish or creased perfs mentioned for accuracy (not affecting lower right stamp, and not mentioned by clear (2004) BPA cert), of little significance as this is undoubtedly a unique multiple, with the only recorded USED example of the inverted opt with oval 'O'.
