1895-96 set to 5r, type 1 opt on India, 16 values (with both 4a shades), good to fine used, selected for neat mostly dated cancels, with four values to 2½a on three pieces. Odd minor blemishes (2r to 5r each with a short perf), and 1r slate with 1905 cds, but an attractive and interesting set. The 2r and 5r each with complete cds (different types), the 2r being from the small first printing with opt at bottom of stamp (and violet 'PAR' cds), while the 4a olive-green has first day cds. (cat £425+)
1895-96 3r brown and green, type 1 opt on India, variety 'Tall second z', lightly cancelled by large part '11 SE 96' cds. Minor blemishes (some shortish perfs, traces of toning) but fine appearance. (cat £90+).

Small thin at upper left, but fine appearance and actually above average for this very rare stamp, being one of just ten used examples recorded by us in private hands (mostly with faults), and unique with Mombasa cancel. Extraordinary ! (cat £1900+)
