1873 (MR 27) cover from Hamilton to London, endorsed 'Per Ferret via New York', franked at 7d rate by 1865-1903 1d pale rose and 6d dull purple (corner wrinkle), tied by light part strikes of type K1 '2' numeral, with despatch cds and red London arrival cds at left. Trivial cover blemishes (flap tear) but very clean and neat. Much above average.

1928 1d ‘Caravel‘, type III, imperforate plate proof from pre-retouched state of plate IV (from re-engraved die), in deep blue on thick slightly surfaced wove, upper right corner block of 30 (6x5), being one quarter of the sheet that survived, and which was in the possession of Morris Ludington until his death. Some creasing through bottom row (minor elsewhere) but a marvellous exhibition piece, showing plate edge at right and many marks between impressions which were subsequently removed.
