1898 (MY 13) registered 'MYERSCOUGH' cover from Chateaubelair to London, franked at 4½d rate (2½d postage + 2d registration) by 1885-93 ½d green x 9 (inclg two horizontal strips of 3), with legible despatch cds at right and the stamps tied in transit by KINGSTOWN cds of same day. 'R' in oval at left and London arrival ds x 2 on face, with black on white perforated registration label on reverse. Roughly opened as usual with this correspondence, still a fine and scarce cover.
1885-93 5s (carmine-) lake, wmk CA, perf 14, complete sheet of 20 (5x4), USED on large piece, with individual strikes of KINGSTOWN cds dated (Ju 25 96) and another strike at right. Trivial marginal blemishes and wrinkling mentioned for accuracy, but a rare and beautiful showpiece. Gorgeous colour !
1893-94 5d on 6d lake, type 12 surcharge, ERROR SURCHARGE DOUBLE, very fine used with part Kingston cds which leaves profile clear. A choice example of this rarity. Brandon cert (1986).
1907-08 2½d blue and 3d violet, type 17, opt 'SPECIMEN', each from pos. 41 of the setting showing the constant variety 'Broken M', brilliant unmounted o.g. (maximum of 13 possible). Wonderfully fresh, and probably the finest available examples.
1909-11 type 18 (with dot) set of 4 to 3d, opt 'SPECIMEN', fresh large part o.g. Odd shortish perfs but a difficult set as the values were distributed separately. (cat £85)
