1895 (20 Mar) typewritten 30(c) black, wide letters, 22mm wide, large part to complete borders except at right, unused. Characteristic small faults (pinholes, minor tones, unobtrusive creasing), barely affecting fine appearance. A very good example of this rare stamp. Ex Dr Scott (Harmer SA 6/6/08, lot 975), 'Isleham' (lot 2289) and Hunt. (cat £1800).
1895 (Mar) typewritten 30(c) black, wide letters, stamp 20mm wide, used with pencil and M/S crosses, exceptionally with M/S date 'May 25 95' and 'G.R.B.' initials of Rev G.R. Blackledge at Ngogwe. Stained by gum and slightly defective (small thins and creases) but with partial borders on all sides (only trace at right but complete at left). Still desirable and very rare. (cat £1600+)

Blackledge at Ngogwe. Typical staining from gum and slight imperfections at right, but well above average for such a contemporary usage. Very rare and full of character. (cat £1600+)
1895 (Mar) typewritten 50(c) black, wide letters, horizontal strip of 4 with complete borders except at left, stamps 20-21mm wide, the two centre stamps with neat blue crayon cross cancels, the end stamps uncancelled. Horizontal crease, and the left stamp with pinholes (possibly indicating method of affixation to the item being posted), otherwise fine and fresh. A spectacular and important first issue multiple, with no larger strip recorded of any value. RPS cert (1972). (cat £4400+)
1895 (20 Mar) typewritten 60(c) black, wide letters, 20mm wide, complete borders at top and right, fresh unused. Small nick at right and minor creasing but fine appearance and well above average for this rare stamp. Ex Dr Scott (Harmer SA 6/6/08, lot 984) and Lilly. (cat £2500)
1895 (20 Mar) typewritten 60(c) black, wide letters, 19mm (+) wide, complete borders at top and right, partial at foot, tied to piece by superb KAMPALA cds dated '24 NO 98', cancelled by favour. Crease and slight gum staining at foot, still most attractive and rare. Ex Dr Scott (Harmer SA 6/6/08, lot 985), 'Isleham' (lot 2292) and Hunt. (cat £2250)
1895 (April) typewritten 5(c) black, wide letters, narrow stamp (17.5mm wide) with part to large part borders on all sides, tied to piece (with original violet M/S on reverse) by pencil cross. Minor creasing and faintly toned by gum, but very good condition for a used example. Ex Dr Scott (Harmer SA 6/6/08, lot 992). (cat £1300).
1895 (April) typewritten 5(c) black, wide letters, stamp 17½mm wide, used on piece with neat pen cross. Slight creasing and a little stained by gum, but well above average for a used example, exceptionally with complete borders and rare thus. (cat £1300).
1895 (April) typewritten 5(c) black, wide letters, narrow stamp, with interpane margin at foot showing the complete world 'shells' (denoting the currency of cowrie shells), unused. Roughly separated at sides, but with complete border at top and traces at left, and with minor creasing in the margin, nevertheless an exceptional example. A rarity in unused condition and very desirable with this marginal inscription. The word 'shells' did not appear in the marginal inscriptions of the later 1895-96 typewritten issues, and we have never previously handled such a stamp. (cat £3250+)
1895 (April) typewritten 20(c) black, wide letters, narrow stamp (18mm wide), horizontal pair with complete border at foot of left stamp and traces at right, showing horizontal 'spacing dash' at centre, fresh unused. Right stamp with minor wrinkling but a fine and excessively rare multiple. Ex Dr Scott (Harmer SA 6/6/08, lot 997), and Dunstan (Sotheby 26/9/85, lot 19). (cat £6500+)
