1863-71 2c brown, ‘Spiro‘ lithographed forgery, complete sheet of 25(5x5) crisply cancelled by forged ‘B62‘. Exceptional condition, and very scarce as a sheet.
1869 (DE 27) cover to London, James Davis correspondence, endorsed 'via Marseilles' and franked at 32c rate by 1863-71 8c bright orange and 24c green, tied by fine light strikes of 'B62', with magenta '1/4' M/S rate mark below and London arrival cds at left. Despatch cds on reverse. The cover with some peripheral creasing (affecting 24c) still fresh and attractive. Ex Rowell.
1898 (1 Apr) 10c on 30c grey-green, type 17 surcharge with additional Chinese handstamp (type 18), upper right corner block of 4 (with positional guide cross) from upper left pane, pos. 5-6 of the setting, o.g. (stamps unmounted but tiny adhesions). Minor imperfections in top margin but a very scarce and impressive positional multiple, fresher than usually found.
1900-01 12c blue, wmk CA, lower marginal block of 4 with guide-mark from lower right pane R9-10/1-2, brilliant unmounted o.g. (except one stamp with tiny inclusion). Trace of creasing at left but a scarce positional multiple, with only 200 sheets printed.
