1888 (7 Aug) 5s green and black, type 13 'Protectorate' opt, brilliant large part o.g. Couple of fractionally shortish perfs mentioned for accuracy but wonderfully fresh and certainly one of the finest examples we have seen. Very scarce. PF cert (1991) as Scott 57.
1913-24 2s6d pale brown, De La Rue printing, perfectly centred upper left corner block of 4 showing the R2/1 re-entry, fresh o.g. Upper right stamp with trivial corner perf fault (not detectable), still an outstanding and very rare positional piece.
1913-24 2s6d chocolate-brown and 5s rose-carmine, BW printings, two of each value presenting marked shade contrast (accompanied by gum and paper differences), selected for freshness and with perfs and centring far above average, brilliant large part o.g. to o.g. One 5s with a couple of thinned perfs, nevertheless a most attractive group. (cat £400+).
1913-24 5s rose-red, Bradbury Wilkinson printing, lower right corner block of 4 (severed into two vertical pairs), the lower pair showing very clear 'opt treble, two albino', unmounted o.g. Very minor traces of toning (insignificant on left pair), still very fine appearance with lovely colour. A rare and remarkable piece, demonstrating that the overprint was applied to one horizontal row at a time. Brandon cert (1980) for left pair, as former SG 90/a.
1938-52 set of 11 to 10s, blocks of 4, unmounted o.g. One 5s with offsetting and 10s block with slight gum creasing, but scarce and most attractive in this form. (cat £340+)
